Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ

What type of computers does Agent Arrange run on?

Agent Arrange will run on a single PC or a network of PCs running a version of the Windows operating system.

(Sadly, we're unable to offer a Mac-based package)

Do I need any other software?

If you use Internet Explorer then you need at least version 8.

If you want to use Agent Arrange's Emailing abilities (which are very useful) then you need at least Outlook 2003 (NOT Outlook Express)

Can Agent Arrange support variable Commission Rates?

Yes

Can it do Supplements?

Yes

What kind of help and support is there for Agent Arrange?

Telephone, Email and Direct PC support. You don't just get Agent Arrange and never hear from us again. We pride ourselves on the quality of our customer support. Please see our Support Options page for details.

How many users can it support?

In terms of physically coping with users we have not yet encountered an upper limit. Systems built on a similar architecture can often cope with 40+ users. Practically speaking, you are more likely to run into problems with your hardware than you are with Agent Arrange.

In licence terms: The number of users you can have is limited by the licence that you buy from us.

Explain Licence Files

In order for Agent Arrange to work you need to have a valid licence file. The licence file you have determines what features are available to you and how many users you can have. The licence file is also linked to your business so other people can't use it.

Why do you lease your software instead of selling it?

We think leasing is the best model for software supply for both vendors and clients. Why we think this can be found in our Reasons For Leasing page.

Is Agent Arrange a web based application?

No. Agent Arrange is a single PC or Local Area Network application. We work with the internet to provide direct links to websites, maps, text messaging, etc, but this is not what most people would consider a "web application".

I need to be able to check information during the evenings when I am out of the office, or when I am travelling. Can I do this?

Given the nature of our clients' business these requirements are quite common. To achieve this we recommend the use of GoToMyPC. It's a fantastic application that once installed on your PC allows you to access it from any internet connected computer, Mac or PC, via a standard web browser, like Internet Explorer. See the Remote Access Solutions page for more information.

I operate over more than one physical site. For instance my agency has a London and a Manchester Office, or I have studios spread out across town in several different buildings. How can agent arrange help me?

These situations are often unique, but generally speaking we have the following advice:

1) If the PCs at the separate sites can all see a common drive on one site as a named drive, eg: "O:\" or "\\Server" then Agent Arrange will work fine just as things are.

2) If you don't have this facility then you might want to consider setting up a Virtual Private Network (VPN). This would allow you not only to run Agent Arrange but also to easily share information and files, eg pictures, sound recordings, documents, etc, between your different sites. You would need to discuss this with your technical support people.

3) If the idea of a VPN seems excessive to you, or if you just require occasional access, then we recommend GoToMyPC, see the Remote Access Solutions page for more information on this useful product.

Does it work on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7?

Yes.

Does it work in Euros? How about Dollars?

The current version of Agent Arrange will work in only one currency, but providing it's a decimal currency (as almost all modern currency systems are) you'll be fine. So it will work in GBP, EUR, USD, AUD, etc. You pick whichever one you want, and then you stick with it.

I've got a really old copy of Outlook. Will Agent Arrange work with it?

The oldest version of Outlook Agent Arrange works with is Outlook 2003.

How much do the SMS text messages cost?

SMS messages are an optional part of the system. Some clients use them, some don't. You purchase message credits from a third party suppler and the cost varies on the size of your order, typically it can be around 7p per message.
